We play with the tension sensation through aesthetic shots of different weapons and objects about to destroy a product that kills thousands of people every day.At present, the consumption of tobacco is the leading cause of preventable death in the world. People that consume tobacco are conscious about its long term damage. When we were having lunch on a terrace and someone on the table next to us started to smoke.&nbsp; When we were walking on the street and watched how someone just throws a cigarette to the floor. When we were speaking to someone and he exhales tobacco smoke on your face. The fragility of everyday objects and the end awaiting remind us of the lightness of being, the unease to reach an end of whom we are all aware of (but no human would like to admit) and of whom no one will be able to escape; living every day in slow motion to avoid reaching the end. When you are aware of the imminent outcome, sooner or later, and the sequences are happening in front of our eyes. When you know you are closer to the inevitable. En el caso de Christian Baumgartner, fotógrafo y realizador publicitario freelance, podría decirse que lo suyo con Yorokobu ha sido como una especie de pilla-pilla. Tenía pendiente hacer una portada para la revista, pero hasta ahora no había encontrado ni el momento ni la inspiración. ¿Cómo encajar su técnica, la fotografía publicitaria, el bodegón, con el estilo de Yorokobu? Y un día, de una manera «un poco random», explica, se le ocurrió la idea.«Fue un momento de inspiración, ahora que estoy trabajando con manos y con ese mundo más conceptual donde son ellas las que cuenta una historia», dice. Vio la oportunidad de convertirlas en su sello personal y creativo y quiso aprovecharlo para crear la portada de la revista de noviembre. Después sumó el elemento del juego, del póker, de las cartas. Juego tomado como reto, como desafío. Tiene ese doble trasfondo: ves arte, ves cultura, ves tecnología… y a la vez te lo están contando con una pizca de gracia».«También me lo puedo llevar a un mundo más rompecabezas, más mental», divaga. Quizá por eso la fotografía final es, en realidad, un fotocollage: las manos del chico de una foto; las manos de la chica de otra… Así hasta conseguir la perfección que busca en sus trabajos.
